ORSOMARSO AND THE POLLINO NATIONAL PARK

Every Thursday - Departure from Diamante at 9:00 AM, return at 1:00 PM - Duration: 4 hours 

An experience among wild nature, authentic traditions, and spirituality, in the green heart of the Pollino National Park, discovering one of the most charming villages in Calabria: Orsomarso.

We depart from Diamante, with the possibility of boarding at Grisolia, Santa Maria del Cedro, and Scalea, to then begin the adventure with a gentle trek towards one of the natural wonders of the Pollino National Park: the Argentino Valley.

We start with a slow and accessible trek within the beautiful Argentino River Valley Nature Reserve, a true paradise recognized as a UNESCO geosite. The trail winds through waterfalls, canyons, ancient trees, and breathtaking views — perfect for those who love to walk in nature at a leisurely pace, enjoying every step.

After completing the path in the reserve, we reach the village of Orsomarso, where participants are welcomed with a delicious tasting of local products: cured meats, cheeses, preserves, and many local specialties that tell the story of the territory with authentic flavors.

After the tasty break, we continue with a visit to the historic center: a maze of quiet alleys, views over the valley, and places rich in history and spirituality. 

Among the main points of interest:

• the Clock Tower, symbol of the village
• the Cave of Our Lady of Lourdes, a place of popular devotion
• the Church of the SS Savior, rich in history and sacred art
• the Information Point of the Pollino National Park, where you can deepen your knowledge of the protected area
